The subsequent US occupation established the mechanisms of domination and laws that allowed the large-scale entry of US capital into the sugar industry in the area, and with it, the purchase of the best land for planting sugarcane and the construction of the Franciso sugar mill. On the other hand, the arrival of the company Francisco Sugar Co., to the southern region of the province of Camagüey, propitiated these processes and with it the acquisition of land through purchases, mortgages, leasing, which brought with it numerous conflicts. In the investigation, the strategies of the settlers against the Rionda-Polledo family and their companies are appreciated, in addition to the strategies used by this family to preserve the acquired properties. Land being one of the structural problems that still persists within the study of the History of the Cuban Nation.
