| Sumario: | Created under the coordination of Italian senator Lelio Basso in 1974, the Bertrand Russell II Court was a court constituted in Europe (Rome and Belgium) to denounce human rights violations perpetrated by dictatorships in Latin America. This text intends to discuss the establishment of this Court for the Brazilian case, and to approach its dialogue in the socialist world and with human rights organizations, highlighting the pioneering role played by Brazil in the elaboration of a base of support and transnational solidarity that would extend to other Latin American countries. |
