The historical conjuncture was marked worldwide by the commotion provoked by the Bolshevik revolution in Russia in a context of capitalist recomposition and adjustment in the immediate postwar period. The conflicts in Córdoba were the product of an accumulation of union organizing experiences that had begun at the end of the 19th century and combined with a rise in the middle sectors and an increase in the demand for university education. The labor market situation, working conditions and wage levels were the immediate causes of workers' conflicts. In a framework of opening of the political system, the workers' strikes by sector were accompanied by the Local Workers' Federation, whose main leaders identified with socialism. These events were contemporary to the university strike that led to the Reform of 1918, which produced solidarities between them in order to have a more successful impact on social democratization. En este trabajo se analiza el auge de los conflictos sociales en Córdoba entre 1917 y 1921, que involucraron huelgas de trabajadores entrelazadas con el movimiento democrático estudiantil de la Reforma Universitaria. La coyuntura histórica estuvo marcada a nivel mundial por la conmoción que provocó la revolución bolchevique en Rusia en un contexto de recomposición y ajuste capitalista en la inmediata posguerra. Los conflictos en Córdoba fueron producto de una acumulación de experiencias de organización sindical que habían iniciado a fines del siglo XIX y conjugado con un ascenso de los sectores medios y un aumento de la demanda educativa universitaria. La situación del mercado laboral, las condiciones de trabajo y niveles salariales fueron las causas inmediatas de los conflictos obreros. En un marco de apertura del sistema político, las huelgas obreras por sector fueron acompañadas por la Federación Obrera Local, cuyos principales dirigentes se identificaban con el socialismo. Estos sucesos fueron contemporáneos a la huelga universitaria que derivó en la Reforma de 1918, lo que produjo solidaridades entre unas y otras para poder incidir con mayor éxito en una democratización social.
