El trabajo se propone caracterizar y problematizar el proceso de institucionalización de la disciplina histórica en la primera mitad del siglo XX en la provincia de Salta, recuperando el sentido de la construcción historiográfica como tarea colectiva, de carácter multifacético y no lineal, para pensar la permanencia de redes de sociabilidad decimonónicas y de canales de circulación del conocimiento no institucional en coexistencia con nuevas instituciones públicas y privadas, particularmente las destinadas al ejercicio de la actividad historiográfica.
