The subalternity of Social Work marks a certain construction of knowledge in the field of Social Sciences in general and social intervention in particular. This subalternity is made more acute and complex by the fact that it is a feminised profession, which means that it is associated with the qualities that in our culture are attributed to the feminine: care, communication, affection and accompaniment. Added to this is the fact that the direct interlocutors of this profession are, for the most part, subaltern social groups, and it is not new to say that women are the preferred recipients of a large part of these actions. Epistemologies of diversity, such as the Epistemologies of/from the point of view, Decolonial and Latin American Feminisms propose to make room for these despised, marginalised, discredited and silenced experiences and, therefore, to reveal the coloniality of knowledge and power in order to seek alternatives that are both utopian and realistic. Being able to think about the experience we live as women social workers and the impact this has on the construction of knowledge would contribute to making visible the strength and potential of feminism to construct another view of the professional practice of Social Work. In this sense, critical, situated reflection will enable us to think (us) from other places.

In this sense, critical, situated reflection will enable us to think (us) from other places.     En el presente artículo planteamos como tema el hecho de que la práctica profesional de Trabajo Social puede ser mirada desde las Epistemologías críticas, como las feministas, como experiencia que posibilita la construcción de conocimientos asumiendo que entre el 80 y 90 % de quienes conformamos el colectivo profesional en la Argentina somos mujeres (aunque estos porcentajes no se diferencian demasiado en el resto de Latinoamérica). La subalternidad de Trabajo Social marca determinada construcción de conocimiento en el campo de las Ciencias Sociales en general y de la intervención social en particular. Esta subalternidad se ve agudizada y complejizada por el hecho de ser una profesión feminizada, lo que la hace estar asociada con las cualidades que en nuestra cultura se le atribuyen a lo femenino: el cuidado, la comunicación, el afecto y el acompañamiento. Se le suma a esto que las/os interlocutores/as directos/as de esta profesión son, en forma mayoritaria, grupos sociales subalternos y no es una novedad decir que las mujeres son destinatarias predilectas de buena parte de estas acciones. Las epistemologías de la diversidad, tal como las Epistemologías del/desde el punto de vista, los Feminismos Decoloniales y Latinoamericanos nos plantean darle lugar a estas experiencias despreciadas, marginales, desacreditadas, silenciadas y, por lo tanto, revelar la colonialidad del saber y del poder para buscar alternativas a la vez utópicas y realistas. Poder pensar la experiencia que vivimos como mujeres trabajadoras sociales y el impacto que esto tiene en la construcción de conocimiento aportaría a visibilizar la fuerza y la potencialidad que tiene el feminismo para construir otra mirada sobre la práctica profesional de Trabajo Social. En este sentido, la reflexión crítica, situada nos posibilitará pensar (nos) desde lugares otros. Neste artigo, propomos como tema o fato de que a prática profissional do Serviço Social pode ser vista a partir de epistemologias críticas, como a feminista, como uma experiência que permite a construção do conhecimento, partindo do princípio de que entre 80 e 90% dos que compõem o coletivo profissional na Argentina são mulheres (embora essas porcentagens não sejam muito diferentes no restante da América Latina). A subalternidade do Serviço Social marca uma determinada construção do conhecimento no campo das Ciências Sociais em geral e da intervenção social em particular. Essa subalternidade se torna mais aguda e complexa pelo fato de ser uma profissão feminizada, o que significa que está associada às qualidades que em nossa cultura são atribuídas ao feminino: cuidado, comunicação, afeto e acompanhamento. Soma-se a isso o fato de que os interlocutores diretos dessa profissão são, em sua maioria, grupos sociais subalternos, e não é novidade dizer que as mulheres são as destinatárias preferenciais de grande parte dessas ações. As epistemologias da diversidade, como as epistemologias de/do ponto de vista, os feminismos decoloniais e latino-americanos propõem abrir espaço para essas experiências desprezadas, marginalizadas, desacreditadas e silenciadas e, portanto, revelar a colonialidade do conhecimento e do poder para buscar alternativas que sejam ao mesmo tempo utópicas e realistas. Ser capaz de pensar sobre a experiência que vivemos como assistentes sociais mulheres e o impacto que isso tem na construção do conhecimento contribuiria para tornar visível a força e o potencial do feminismo para construir outra visão da prática profissional do Serviço Social. Nesse sentido, a reflexão crítica e situada nos permitirá pensar (em nós) a partir de outros lugares.
