With this we seek to explore in detail, into matches and ruptures between the initiatives of the Mexican State and the demands of indigenous women. Con el objetivo de profundizar y reflexionar sobre los aspectos considerados necesarios para promover el desarrollo integral de las mujeres indígenas mexicanas, a través de una agenda pública, potenciando su rol protagónico como  actores principales de sus propios procesos de cambio y el de sus pueblos indígenas, desde una práctica democrática, intercultural, intergeneracional y de equidad de género, el texto presenta el análisis de la puesta en marcha del Programa Organización Productiva para Mujeres Indígenas (POMPI) en dos comunidades indígenas del estado de Morelos en México. Con ello pretendemos ahondar en el hasta dónde las iniciativas del Estado Mexicano —de las que el POPMI funge como un ejemplo— coinciden con las búsquedas y demandas de las propias mujeres y, hasta dónde hay rupturas y separaciones entre las mismas.
