This way of inheriting and consolidating the research lines and themes would seem to be independent of the public policies – explicit and implicit – adopted by the successive administrations of national governments. The Darwinion Botanical Institute, started in 1911 as a private institute and later inaugurated as such in 1936, can account for the development and consolidation of Botany as an independent discipline, so it will be used as a case to develop the working hypotheses. En la botánica argentina se mantienen líneas y temas de investigación que pueden rastrearse en el tiempo como hilos conductores entre discípulos y tutores. Esta manera de heredar, consolidar y desarrollar las líneas y temas de investigación parecería ser independientes de las políticas públicas – explícitas e implícitas – adoptadas por las sucesivas gestiones de gobiernos nacionales. Las configuraciones que se observan en Instituto de Botánica Darwinion pueden dar cuenta del recorrido general de la disciplina, por lo que se usará como caso para desarrollar las hipótesis de trabajo.
