XX, the Facultad de Ciencias Económicas presents the conditions for experimental research; the underlying research system that makes possible the experimental program of Alfredo Palacios is described, as well as the role of the Seminar, a specific section of the investigation, which was actually part of the investigation group. Methodologically, primary and secondary sources were used, mainly the empirical support of little used sources from the Treasury of the Facultad library and the archives of the Museum of Experimental Psychology in Argentina. For the characterization and explanation of the experimental research, we resorted mainly to the empirical support of little-used sources from the Treasure of the Facultad library and the archives of the Museum of Experimental Psychology in Argentina. The paper shows that Palacios' experimental investigations were not limited to a typical investigation of his time, the individual attempt, but that it was possible by virtue of a novel model of investigation that emerged as one of the main purposes of the creation of the Facultad in 1913. En este trabajo se analiza cómo, en el ámbito institucional eminentemente profesionalista de la universidad de principios de s. XX, la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas presenta las condiciones para la investigación experimental; se describe el sistema de investigación subyacente que posibilita el programa experimental de Alfredo Palacios, así como el papel del Seminario, una sección específica del sistema que en los hechos formó parte del grupo de investigación. Metodológicamente se recurrió a fuentes primarias y secundarias, principalmente al apoyo empírico de fuentes poco utilizadas del Tesoro de la biblioteca de la Facultad de Ciencias Económicas y a los archivos del Museo de la Psicología Experimental en Argentina. En el trabajo se muestra que las investigaciones experimentales de Palacios no se limitaron a una investigación típica de su tiempo, el intento individual, sino que fue posible en virtud de un modelo novedoso de investigación surgido como uno de los fines principales de la creación de la Facultad en 1913.
