This article offers an overview to the Jesuit institutions in two provinces, Peru and Paracuaria, both located in South America, in 1767. En 1767, el rey Carlos III ordenó la expulsión de los jesuitas de todo el territorio español. El número total de jesuitas en Hispanoamérica fue tal vez de unos 2.600. A pesar del pequeño número, los jesuitas jugaron un papel importante en la sociedad colonial. Fueron importantes en la educación de los hijos de la élite urbana y en la vida espiritual de los habitantes de las ciudades. También administraban misiones fronterizas. Este artículo ofrece un panorama de las instituciones jesuitas en dos provincias, Perú y Paracuaria, ambas ubicadas en América del Sur, en 1767.
