Sumario:This essay analyzes the extrinsic elements (physical or structural) and the intrinsic characters (substantive or substance parts) referring to the content of the letters or annual letters of the Society of Jesus. In addition, the paleographic transcription of said historical document is carried out, to know the educational, ministerial and missionary tasks, as well as the most important events that occurred in 1647 among the inhabitants of Mérida in the Yucatán province of New Spain and were communicated by the Ignatian community of Mérida to the superiors of the order. Thus, the superiors and other members of the Society of Jesus were kept informed about the daily activities carried out each year, in each center, house, residence or mission, the Jesuit priests in the confines of the New Spain world.
