Perhaps trying to escape the contingencies of life in common, it did not take long to postulate a place and a time in which the philosophical ideal of coexistence could take shape. From Plato's Republic or, better, from the Laws (where the idea of the ruling philosopher is proposed) to the oppositions between Marxism and utopian socialism, utopian thought has not ceased to unveil Western thought. Desde sus inicios, la filosofía de occidente se ha planteado la relación entre filosofía y modos de vida. Quizás tratando de escapar a las contingencias de la vida en común, no tardó en postular un lugar y un tiempo en el cual el ideal filosófico de convivencia pudiera cobrar forma. Desde La República de Platón o, mejor, desde las Leyes (donde se plantea la idea del filósofo gobernante) hasta las contraposiciones entre el marxismo y el socialismo utópico, el pensamiento utópico no ha dejado de desvelar al pensamiento occidental. Dès ses débuts, la philosophie occidentale s'est interrogée sur la relation entre la philosophie et les modes de vie. Cherchant peut-être à échapper aux contingences de la vie en commun, il n'a pas fallu longtemps pour postuler un lieu et un temps où l'idéal philosophique de la coexistence pourrait prendre forme. De la République de Platon ou, mieux, des Lois (où est posée l'idée du souverain philosophe) aux oppositions entre marxisme et socialisme utopique, la pensée utopique n'a cessé de dévoiler la pensée occidentale. Desde seu início, a filosofia ocidental tem ponderado a relação entre filosofia e modos de vida. Talvez tentando escapar das contingências da vida em comum, não demorou muito a postular um lugar e um tempo em que o ideal filosófico de convivência pudesse tomar forma. Da República de Platão ou, melhor, das Leis (onde a idéia do filósofo governante é colocada) às oposições entre o marxismo e o socialismo utópico, o pensamento utópico não deixou de desvendar o pensamento ocidental.
