We will conduct a comparative approach in order to reading and analyzing the never simple or direct contacts between cultures and their productions, to interrogate the texts in its dialogue with others. Recurrence to the mythical background strengthens the transgressor profile of the protagonist in an interesting intertextual relationship that reworks the classical European tradition in a complex work that stresses the components of Latin American culture. Este trabajo comparatista indaga en la relación entre la figura mítica de Orfeo y la representación heroica del protagonista en La balada de Johnny Sosa (1987) del autor uruguayo, Mario Delgado Aparaín. Nuestro propósito es leer y tensionar los contactos –nunca simples ni directos- entre las culturas y sus producciones, a fin de interrogar los textos en su diálogo con otros. La recurrencia al trasfondo mítico fortalece el perfil transgresor del protagonista, en una interesante relación intertextual que reelabora la tradición clásica europea en una obra compleja que tensiona los componentes de la cultura latinoamericana.
