The project carried out was aimed at addressing the health process - disease in oral health of the elderly, promoting their social integration in the plot of their community, through the interaction that developed between the members of the health team and adults older valid auto residents in the hospital. Work was carried out through the training of the JJ Puente Hospital health team in the promotion, protection and care of oral health of the elderly residents, strengthening the communication tools that allowed the development of a socio-sanitary diagnosis and assessment of the state of health Oral of the recipients to finally perform the evaluation of the process and products. We consider that the realization of this work allowed a fruitful encounter between university and community from an implication in the daily life of sectors in a situation of social vulnerability, recovering knowledge, experiences and building knowledge from the subjects' own reality. La formación del odontólogo contempla las propuestas de participación de docentes y estudiantes de la carrera en actividades de Extensión Universitaria; como parte de la sociedad la Universidad no solo debe cumplir el rol de formadora e investigadora, sino de actor social, promoviendo la vinculación con la comunidad de la cual forma parte. El relato de esta experiencia hace referencia a un proyecto de Extensión enmarcado en la convocatoria del programa de subsidios de la Facultad de Odontología, U.N de Córdoba, año 2013. El mismo tuvo la finalidad de estimular la interacción entre los integrantes del equipo de salud y los adultos mayores auto válidos residentes en el Hospital J. J. Puente, perteneciente al ámbito de la salud pública provincial de Córdoba ubicado en la localidad de San Francisco Del Chañar, departamento Sobremonte de la Provincia de Córdoba. Se trabajó en el abordaje del proceso de salud - enfermedad de esta población a través de la capacitación del equipo de salud del Hospital en la promoción, protección y cuidado de la salud bucal de los adultos mayores, promoviendo la integración social en la trama de su comunidad, fortaleciendo las herramientas de comunicación que permitieron elaborar un diagnóstico socio sanitario y valoración del estado de la salud bucal de los residentes, para finalmente realizar la evaluación del proceso y productos(2).
