The modalitiesof selection of the authors of the works, the development of the architectural programs, aswell as the location of the sites where the Community Participation Centers (Córdoba,Argentina) and the Articulated Life Units (Medellín, Colombia) were built, make it possibleto understand different ways of thinking and realizing urban-architectural enclaves, in whichplace and dwelling play a leading role. El texto propone reflexionar sobre dos estrategias proyectuales con las que las ciudades de Córdoba (Argentina) primero y Medellín (Colombia) después, asumieron el desafío de expandir en el territorio urbano la presencia del gobierno municipal. Las modalidades de selección de los autores de las obras, el desarrollo de los programas arquitectónicos, así como la localización de los predios donde se construyeron los Centros de Participación Comunal (Córdoba, Argentina) y las Unidades de Vida Articulada (Medellín, Colombia), posibilitan entender distintas maneras de pensar y concretar enclaves urbano-arquitectónicos, en los que el lugar y el habitar poseen un rol protagónico.
