The replacement of a burned cello, a simple piece of news published on Facebook©, made it clear the power that artistic expression has in the Comarca and that which is perceived about the Region. That same artistic expression is one of the most genuine bases of local environmental awareness. That statement about the "lugar de la naturaleza" [place of nature] (Escobar, 2000), has been slowly accumulated through the successive migratory layers that, from the sixties, summoned painters, hippies, pacifists, or just those whose search was to escape from overwhelming machinery of the large cities.
We seek to bring together the burned trees that, intervened in art, are the victims, those burned lenga trees, are perceived like many young people of the 60s and 70s, with the power of the survivors (Gagliano, 2021). Life stories, ingredients of the primordial soup that is cooked in the cauldron of the history of that place: “La Comarca”; generating a synthesis between art and nature. Synthesis tested in the nineties with the intrusion of the new age world and its burden of social individualism, generating a rupture that shows us two different ways of living nature.
We will travel this trail through interviews with key figures, in the search for the "Historiadores de domingo” [Sunday historians] (Fernández and Dalla Corte, 2001) and the artistic work that defends the utopia of preserving the environment and of the "good living". |

En este olvidable otoño del 2021 quinientas familias acababan de ver destruidas sus utopías personales, y una sentida solidaridad se apoderó de todos. La reposición de un chelo quemado, una simple noticia publicada en Facebook, hizo evidente la potencia que la expresión artística tiene en la Comarca y se tiene de la Comarca. Esa misma expresión artística es una de las bases más genuinas de la conciencia ambiental local. Ese enunciado sobre el “lugar de la naturaleza” (Escobar, 2000), lentamente acumulado en las sucesivas capas migratorias que, a partir de los sesenta, convocaron a pintores, hippies, pacifistas, o simplemente a aquellos cuya búsqueda era huir de la maquinaria arrolladora de las grandes ciudades. Buscamos hermanar los árboles quemados que intervenidos en arte hacen que las víctimas, esas lengas quemadas, se perciban, al igual que muchos jóvenes de los sesenta y setenta, con la potencia de los sobrevivientes (Gagliano, 2021). Historias de vida, ingredientes del caldo primordial que se cuece en el caldero de la historia de ese lugar: “la Comarca”, generando una síntesis entre arte y naturaleza. Síntesis puesta a prueba en los noventa con la intromisión del mundo new age y su carga de individualismo social, generándose una ruptura que nos muestra dos caminos diferentes de vivir la naturaleza. Recorreremos este camino a través de entrevistas a personajes claves, en las búsquedas de los “historiadores de domingo” (Fernández y Dalla Corte, 2001) y las producciones artísticas que defienden la utopía de preservar el ambiente y del “buen vivir”.
