The relationship between archive and the disciplining of alterity, archive and the administration of populations, are worked upon ideas of connection, loss and story. The text addresses the archive as consignment (ordering), as a place (of enunciation) and as a strategic locus (of the archivist). Nevertheless, this locus is always haunted by the appearance of an out of text which, while giving it existence, threatens the very authority of the archive. Este texto presenta algunas reflexiones sobre el archivo y sus metáforas: la extracción del pasado, la secrecía como límite, el silenciamiento como su evasivo trabajo. La relación entre archivo y disciplinamiento de la alteridad, entre archivación y administración de poblaciones, se pone en relación con las ideas de conexión, perdida y relato. El texto aborda al archivo como consignación (en tanto ordenamiento), como lugar (de enunciación) y como espacio estratégico (del archivero), acechado siempre por la aparición de un fuera de texto que, a la vez que le da existencia, lo amenaza en su autoridad.
