Audiovisual Archives Trials for Crimes Against Humanity Memory Temporality The audiovisual records that are part of the Audiovisual Archives of Crimes Against Humanity are the visible document of the legal cases processed by the federal courts acting upon Santa Fe's territory. The vision shared in these images becomes a political and cultural movement that is officially established with the opening of these archives to the community. An inauguration that, from the moment of its creation, lays out new questions regarding the political and theoretical tensions that are generated between the recording of the testimony originally stated in the judicial headquarters and their inclusion in the archives material. Even though that their material conservation, the accessibility it offers regarding queries and actions focused on its transmission constitute different functions, but nonetheless complementary in their goal, the almost simultaneity in the recording of the trails and its transformation in a memory device would seem to expose a misalignment regarding the conventional timing an archive creation requires. In that temporal misalignment, caused by a present that is characterized for recording and archiving facts simultaneously, those images are here to propose us a new way of relating to history. We will not only be looking at a past preserved in the archives, distant in time from our present, but we will have created a device that will favor the emergence of a new relationship between historic moments. Los registros audiovisuales que integran el Archivo Audiovisual de Juicios de Lesa Humanidad son el documento visible de las causas tramitadas por tribunales federales con actuación en territorio santafesino. La visión compartida de estas imágenes se convierte en una operación política cultural que queda habilitada con la apertura de este archivo a la comunidad. Una apertura que, desde el momento de su creación, plantea nuevas preguntas vinculadas a las tensiones, tanto teóricas como políticas, que se generan entre la captura del testimonio vertido originalmente en sede judicial y su inclusión en el dispositivo archivo. Si bien la preservación de su existencia material, la accesibilidad que ofrezca en términos de consulta y las acciones con el eje puesto en la transmisión constituyen funciones diferenciadas pero complementarias de su misión, la casi simultaneidad entre el registro de los juicios y su transformación en un dispositivo de memoria pareciera exponer un desfasaje con respecto a la temporalidad convencional para la formación de un archivo. En ese desacople temporal, producto de un presente que se caracteriza por registrar y archivar en forma simultánea a los hechos, esas imágenes vienen a proponernos un nuevo modo de relacionarnos con la historia. No estaremos sólo mirando un pasado conservado en el archivo, distante en el tiempo a nuestro presente, sino que habremos fundado un dispositivo que favorecerá la irrupción de una nueva relación entre tiempos históricos.  Facultad de Filosofía y Humanidades.
