Pude reforzar y cotejar recuerdos con otros colegas que también se iniciaban en aquella época, a quienes menciono y agradezco por sus aportes al final del artículo. El período analizado finaliza en 1983, cuando la Universidad fue normalizada. Seguramente algún lector encontrará esta colección de recuerdos plagado de omisiones. Me disculpo por ello; algunas son por desconocimiento u olvido y otras por la necesidad de mantener el artículo en una extensión razonable. This article is not intended to be a rigorous historical review of the School of Chemical Sciences. It is just a collection of memories of someone that during his studies of Biochemistry starting in 1958 was a witness of the beginning of the foundation of the School. Some of these memories were checked with other colleagues of those times, to whom I thank for their contributions to the article. I apologize for any omission, of names or situations, which I could have made. Some were due to my ignorance and other due to the necessity of keeping the article in a reasonable extent.
