Sumario:China's position as the world's most important developing country places it as the leader of the countries of the global South that call for a fairer and more balanced international system. Along these lines, this article analyzes the impact of the pandemic on Sino-Latin American ties, taking into account the (sometimes conflicting) interests of a country with the characteristics of China and those of Latin America, revealing how much progress can be made in the construction of a new governance from the global South.
