The risk and protective factors of child well-being are dynamic, to this effect, psychomotor development and parenting practices are essential components for their analysis.
Goal: Analyze the psychomotor development and parenting practices in children under 4 years of age who attend childcare centers located in the southeast of the city of Córdoba.
Method: Observational and cross-sectional study. The National Screening Test (PRUNAPE, Prueba Nacional de Pesquisa) and Parenting Practice (PP) Instruments were applied in 168 boys and girls from 1 to 4 years of age, who attend childcare centers located in the southeast of the city of Córdoba. A sample was used for convenience.
The data was analyzed from frequency distribution and comparisons with the Chi-squared test or Irwin-Fisher test. A confidence level of 95% was considered. The relevant ethical measures were implemented.
Results: The distribution among men and women was similar (47% and 52%). 69.34% did not pass the PRUNAPE, with a predominance of males in those who did not pass (p‹0.01). As regards PP, 56.19% were at risk, with a similar distribution in men (49.5%) and women (50, 85%).
Conclusion: The frequency of children who do not pass the PRUNAPE shows a fivefold increase in the national average, and five out of every ten boys and girls develop in a context of risk in parenting practice. The risk factors strengthen each other, constituting an unfavorable scenario for children’ well-being. |

The risk factors strengthen each other, constituting an unfavorable scenario for children’ well-being. . Universidad Nacional Córdoba. Facultad de Ciencias Médicas.
