The objectivos of the present investigation was to analyze the relationship between diet CF, BP and inflammation biomarkers.
Descriptive, correlational, cross-sectional study. Adults over 35 years old of both sexes who attended the Cardiology Service of the National Hospital of Clinics, Córdoba 2018-2019, and who signed the informed consent participated. Instruments used: clinical history, validated food frequency questionnaire, tobacco consumption, anthropometric measurements, blood pressure and laboratory analysis. The Interfood software v.1.3 was used to process the food information. The non-parametric Kruskal Wallis test, the T test and the Pearson correlation test with a significance level p <0.05 were applied. The Stata v.14.0 program was used.
The 82% presented excess weight and 69% greatly increased risk of metabolic complications. The mean systolic blood pressure was 132.4 ± 20.26 mmHg (borderline category). Serum concentrations of COL, LDL, HDL and IL-6 showed significant statistical differences between sexes (p <0.05). The average total CF consumption was 3.46 ± 5.79 gr / day, with a significant statistical difference between sexes (p = 0.008). Significant statistical associations were observed between total phenols and IL-6; flavanols with IL-1B and IL-6; flavanones, flavonols and flavones with diastolic blood pressure; flavones and IL-1B and HDL and isoflavones.
There was a positive relationships between dietary phenols, PA and serum values of IL-1B and IL-6, indicating that these compounds can act as a modulating factor in these relationships. |

La presión arterial (PA) aumentada es un factor de riesgo para el desarrollo de enfermedad cardiovascular (ECV) y la ingesta de compuestos fenólicos (CF) puede contribuir a reducir estos valores. El objetivo del trabajo fue analizar la relación entre CF de la dieta, PA y biomarcadores de inflamación. Estudio descriptivo, correlacional, transversal. Participaron adultos mayores de 35 años de ambos sexos que asistieron al Servicio de Cardiología del Hospital Nacional de Clínicas, Córdoba 2018-2019, y que firmaron el consentimiento informado. Instrumentos utilizados: historia clínica, cuestionario de frecuencia alimentaria validada, consumo de tabaco, mediciones antropométricas, de presión arterial y análisis de laboratorio. Para procesar la información alimentaria se utilizó el programa informático Interfood v.1.3. Se aplicó el test no paramétrico de Kruskal Wallis, el test T y el test de correlación de Pearson con un nivel de significación p <0.05. Se empleó el programa Stata v.14.0. El 82% presentó exceso de peso y el 69% riesgo muy aumentado de complicaciones metabólicas. La media para presión arterial sistólica fue de 132.4 ±20.26 mmHg (categoría limítrofe). Las concentraciones séricas de COL, LDL, HDL e IL-6 se presentaron diferencias estadísticas significativas entre sexos (p<0.05). El consumo promedio de CF totales fue 3,46 ±5,79 gr/día, presentándose diferencia estadística significativa entre sexos (p=0.008). Se observaron asociaciones estadísticas significativas entre fenoles totales e IL-6; flavanoles con IL-1B e IL-6; flavanonas, flavonoles y flavonas con presión arterial diastólica; flavonas e IL-1B y HDL e isoflavonas. Existen relaciones positivas entre fenoles dietarios, PA y valores séricos de IL-1B y IL-6, indicando que estos compuestos pueden actuar como un factor modulador en estas relaciones.
