We describe a bog located in its northwestern extreme confirming that peatlands are not only limited to cold areas, but are also present in the subtropics, performing a very important role because of its ability to absorb water. En este trabajo, se reporta la presencia de turbales en la laguna del Iberá (NE de Argentina, Corrientes) bajo un clima subtropical. Se describe una turbera localizada en su extremo NW confirmando que las turberas no sólo están limitadas a z onas frías, sino que también están presentes en el subtrópico, cumpliendo un r ol muy importante debido a su gran capacidad para absorber agua.
