This activity is about the generalities of genetics and its importance and applications in everyday life. The interaction with different social actors and the approach to the content from different scientific areas, such as biology and chemistry, permitted learning about the concerns and the opinions which circulate in the community where we live. Since the twentieth century, scientific technology related to DNA and its applications has revolutionized our society, incorporating information and fixed expressions into people’s daily lives. In the present work, the evolution of the experience is outlined, including both the preparation of the different posts in the interactive exhibition and the final comments at the end of the activity. Finally, there is a section on the concluding remarks on the challenges that the articulation with the different fields of action entailed, mainly considering a biological angle, having into consideration its intimate relation with the social sciences. En este artículo se describe el accionar de una práctica extensionista que se realiza en el marco de la Noche de los Museos Edición 2018 de la Facultad de Ciencias Químicas en la Academia Nacional de Ciencias de la Provincia de Córdoba sobre generalidades de la genética y su importancia y aplicaciones en la vida cotidiana. La interacción con distintos actores sociales y el acercamiento de contenidos desde distintas áreas de las ciencias como la biología y la química permitió conocer las inquietudes y las apreciaciones de la comunidad en la que estamos insertos. Desde el siglo XX, la tecnología científica relacionada con el ADN y sus aplicaciones ha revolucionado nuestra sociedad, incorporando información y frases hechas en su cotidianeidad. Se presenta el devenir de la experiencia, tanto la preparación de las distintas postas de la muestra interactiva como las apreciaciones finales de la actividad. Por último se presentan las reflexiones finales sobre los desafíos que implicó la articulación con los distintos campos de actuación, principalmente desde uno biológico y su íntima relación con lo social.
