For the collection of information, the in-depth interview was used, which is a technique based on conversational play. Two moments were established: First moment: a table is presented with the main feelings, and experiences lived and reported by the parents and the copingstrategies identified as used. Second moment: The construct of categories that agglutinate the concepts and ideas force that interpret and analyze the phenomenon under study. they were organized around the two questions of the investigation: Question 1: Three thematic categories were built force: concernand sadness, uncertainty and Impotence, acceptance. Question 2: Four thematic strength categories were built: emotional support networks, institutional resources, religious beliefs, learning. Results The feelings of parents with children hospitalized in UTIN, according to experience lived were of sadness, uncertainty and acceptance and recognized ways of coping were: Means of support, Institutional resources, Religiosity and Learning. We can conclude that, the emotional impact that parents go through is determined by the situation that is becoming evident rather than by the exclusive factors of the child.

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo evaluar y analizar el impacto emocional en los padres del recién nacido (RN) internado en Unidad de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal (UTIN). Para tal efecto se realizó un estudio de tipo cualitativo; la muestra del estudio se saturo cuando se alcanzo a 15 respuestas  realizadas a 15 padres de niños que se encuentran internados. Para la recolección de la información se utilizó la entrevista a profundidad, la cual es una técnica basada en el juego conversacional. Se establecieron dos momentos: Primer momento: se presenta un cuadro con los principales sentimientos, y experiencias vividas y relatadas por los padres y las estrategias de afrontamiento identificadas como utilizadas. Segundo momento: La construcción de categorías que aglutinan los conceptos e ideas fuerza que interpretan y analizan el fenómeno en estudio. las mismas se organizaron en torno a las dos preguntas de la investigación: Pregunta 1: Se construyeron tres categorías temáticas fuerza: preocupación y tristeza, incertidumbre e Impotencia, aceptación. Pregunta 2: Se construyeron cuatro categorías temáticas fuerza: redes de apoyo emocional, recursos institucionales, creencias religiosas, aprendizaje. Resultados. Los sentimientos de padres con niños internados en UTIN, según experiencia vivida fueron de tristeza, incertidumbre y aceptación y los modos de afrontamiento reconocidos fueron: Medios de apoyo, Recursos institucionales, Religiosidad y Aprendizaje. Podemos concluir en que, el impacto emocional que atraviesan los padres viene determinado por la situación que se está evidenciando más que por los factores exclusivos del niño. Resumo: O objetivo desta pesquisa foi avaliar e analisar o impacto emocional que exerce sobre os pais do recém-nascido (RN) internados na Unidade de Terapia Intensiva Neonatal (UTIN). Para tanto, foi realizado um estudo qualitativo; a amostra do estudo ficou saturada quando foram atingidas 15 respostas a15 pais de crianças internadas. Para a coleta de informações, foi utilizada a entrevista em profundidade, técnica baseada no jogo conversacional. Dois momentos foram estabelecidos: Primeiro momento: é apresentada uma tabela com os principais sentimentos e experiências vividas e relatadas pelos pais e as estratégias de enfrentamento identificadas como utilizadas. Segundo momento: A construção de categorias que aglutinam os conceitos e forças de idéias que interpretam e analisam o fenômeno em estudo. eles foram organizados em torno das duas questões da investigação: Pergunta 1: Três categorias temáticas foram construídas: preocupação e tristeza, incerteza e impotência, aceitação. Questão 2: Foram construídas quatro categorias de força temática: redes de apoio emocional, recursos institucionais, crenças religiosas, aprendizado. Resultados Os sentimentos de pais e filhos internados na UTIN, segundo a experiência vivida, foram de tristeza, incerteza e aceitação e formas reconhecidas de enfrentamento foram: Meios de apoio, Recursos institucionais, Religiosidade e Aprendizado. Podemos concluir que, o impacto emocional que os pais sofrem é determinado pela situação que está se tornando evidente, e não pelos fatores exclusivos da criança. Sanatorio Allende.
