The objective of this work was to identify the existence of academic stress perceived by the students who complete the first year of the NursingDegree of theFaculty of Medicine in the period from January 1 to December 31 of the year 2017.This is study of quantitative, descriptive, cross-sectional and observation al type. Thes amplewas 82 students between 18 and 48 years old. It was highlighted, among the academic situations perceived as stressful, that 92% indicated the overload of practical work, and in a lower percentage other variables. Regarding psychological symptoms, 70% presente dinsomnia. Among the physical symptoms, 58% presented muscular tension. The out standing behavioral changea mong the students was the difficulty to concentrate with 91%. The perception of stress in the different age groups was analyzed in the present study, observingthatitis more frequent a mong students of 20 and 21 years of age. The perception of stress of thefemale sex with the male was also analyzed, and differen ces were found between them. Regarding the students who have smoking habit, 77% started thes ame before en teringtherace, and a third of them during the first year of their university studies. The analyzed data allowed to demonstrate the perception of stress identified by the students themselves. El estrés es una temática frecuente en gran variedad de ámbitos, y es objeto de estudio de innumerables investigaciones. El objetivo de este trabajo fue identificar la existencia de estrés académico percibido por los estudiantes que finalizan el primer año de Licenciatura en Enfermería de la Facultad de Medicina en el periodo comprendido entre 1° de enero al 31 de diciembre del año 2017. Se realizó un estudio de tipo cuantitativo, descriptivo, transversal y observacional. La muestra fue de 82 estudiantes entre 18 a 48 años. Se destacó, entre las situaciones académicas percibidas como estresantes, que el 92% indicó la sobrecarga de trabajos prácticos, y en menor porcentaje demás variables. Respecto a los síntomas psicológicos el 70% presento insomnio. Entre los síntomas físicos un 58% presentó tensión muscular. El cambio  comportamental destacado entre los estudiantes, fue la dificultad para concentrarse con un 91%. Se analizó en el presente estudio la percepción de estrés en los diferentes grupos etarios, observándose así, que es más frecuente entre los estudiantes de 20 y 21 años. También se analizó la percepción de estrés del sexo femenino con el masculino, y se hallaron diferencias entre ambos. Respecto a los estudiantes que presentan hábito de fumar, el 77% ya inició el mismo antes del ingreso a la carrera, y el tercio de los mismos durante el primer año de sus estudios universitarios. Los datos analizados permitieron evidenciar la percepción de estrés identificado por los propios estudiantes. Sanatorio Allende.
