This work presents the results of the anthracological analysis of Kami 1 site, located on the southern shore of Fagnano lake (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina). Its objective is to contribute to the knowledge about the use and management of the woody plant resources used by the human societies that occupied the southern shore of Fagnano Lake during the late Holocene. The anthracological analysis consisted of taxonomic identification, analysis of alterations and estimation of firewood size. The sample includes 5 taxa, although Nothofagus pumilio predominates. The charcoal fragments show alterations and have weakly curved rings, which indicates a predominance of large branches and /or trunks. A homogeneous trend is observed in the selection of species used as fuel in the sites of the southern margin of Fagnano Lake, although a greater richness of taxa is recorded compared to the sites located in the forest-steppe ecotone and in the deciduous forest, and it resembles that surveyed in the mixed forest from the North coast of Beagle Channel. |

En este trabajo se presentan los resultados del análisis antracológico del sitio Kami 1, situado en la costa sur del lago Fagnano (Tierra del Fuego, Argentina). Se pretende aportar al conocimiento sobre el uso y la gestión de los recursos vegetales leñosos empleados por las sociedades humanas que ocuparon la costa sur del lago Fagnano durante el Holoceno tardío. El análisis antracológico consistió en la identificación taxonómica, el registro de alteraciones y la estimación del calibre de la leña. El conjunto está formado por 5 taxa, aunque este está compuesto principalmente por Nothofagus pumilio. Los fragmentos de carbones muestran alteraciones y presentan anillos débilmente curvados. Se observa ubicuidad en la selección de las especies usadas como combustible en los sitios de la margen sur del lago Fagnano, aunque la riqueza de taxa es mayor en comparación con los sitios ubicados en el ecotono bosque-estepa, en el bosque caducifolio, y se asemeja a aquella relevada en el bosque mixto del litoral norte del canal Beagle. Este artigo apresenta os resultados da análise antracológica do sítio Kami 1, localizado na margem sul do Lago Fagnano (Terra do Fogo, Argentina). O objetivo é contribuir para o conhecimento sobre o uso e o manejo dos recursos vegetais lenhosos utilizados pelas sociedades humanas que ocuparam a margem sul do Lago Fagnano durante o Holoceno tardio. A análise antracológica consistiu na identificação taxonômica, no registro de alterações e na estimativa do calibre da lenha. O conjunto consiste em 5 táxons, embora seja composto principalmente por Nothofagus pumilio. Os fragmentos de carvão mostram perturbação e têm anéis fracamente curvos. A ubiquidade na seleção de espécies usadas como combustível é observada nos locais da margem sul do Lago Fagnano, embora a riqueza de táxons seja maior em comparação com os locais situados no ecótono floresta-estepe, na floresta decídua, e se assemelhe à encontrada na floresta mista da margem norte do Canal de Beagle.
