Sumario:In this work, we present the results of the analyses of starch granule identification recovered in lithic tools and ceramic fragments by the “Proyecto Paleoetnobotánica y Arqueobotánica del Grupo Residencial Limón de Palenque.” An archaeobotanical analysis was performed with the aim to identify different species of plants (seeds, fruits, wood, charcoal, etc.) that were available to the inhabitants of a residential complex in the ancient Maya city of Palenque. This allowed us to propose the approximate reconstruction of the species of plants used in the subsistence of the members of this domestic unit during the Late Classic period (250 B.C. - 900 A.D.).
