Alphar hands of the yungas. An approximation to the modeling of late vessels in the east vertient of the Calchaquíes Summits (Tucumán)

In this work we present the results of the macroscopic analysis focused on the manufacturing marks of two stylistically different late ceramic vessels. They were recovered at the Mortero Hachado site, located in the eastern foothills of the Cumbres Calchaquíes in the north of the province of Tucumán...

They were recovered at the Mortero Hachado site, located in the eastern foothills of the Cumbres Calchaquíes in the north of the province of Tucumán. The results obtained demonstrate certain degrees of coincidence in technical processes and gestures, which allows us to think of the presence of potters with high technical expertise and the same learning context. Likewise, from the modeling techniques we intend to contribute new data that will be integrated with those obtained through the studies of pastes and provenance that are being carried out with the aim of understanding the organization of ceramic production and the social behaviors of the populations that inhabited the yungas and lowlands during the second millennium of the era.
