Such information is complemented by techno-morphological and functional data, already presented in previous publications, which enables us to deepen our knowledge regarding the characteristics of the materials included in such particular spaces. Likewise, an integral view of ceramic artifacts qualities will allow the formulation of interpretations regarding possible selection criteria followed by the people of the Puna for their incorporation in such contexts. The analyzed material was recovered in the archaeological sites of Punta de la Peña 9-Sector III and Punta de la Peña 13-Sector I, both located in the Puna microrregion of Antofagasta de la Sierra. La información presentada en este trabajo corresponde a los nuevos resultados de un estudio petrográfico efectuado sobre tres piezas y un fragmento cerámico recuperados en contextos funerarios. Tal información se suma a los datos tecno-morfológicos y funcionales, ya presentados en una publicación anterior, para ampliar nuestro conocimiento sobre las características del material que forma parte de tan particulares espacios. Asimismo, una visión integral de las cualidades de los artefactos cerámicos, permitió generar interpretaciones acerca de los posibles criterios de selección seguidos por las poblaciones puneñas para su incorporación en dichos contextos. El material estudiado durante esta investigación procede de los sitios Punta de la Peña 9- Sector III y Punta de la Peña 13- Sector I, localizados en la microrregión puneña de Antofagasta de la Sierra.
