The results show that there is not a direct and univocal relationship between the design and the function of the tools. However, it has been proven that the selection of some morphological (edge shape) and dimensional (length of the edge, and module L/W) attributes are related to the context of use of lithic tools. En objetivo de este trabajo es discutir cómo se relacionan las prácticas de consumo con el diseño de los artefactos. Para cumplir con el mismo se tomaron en cuenta los datos alcanzados del análisis tecno-morfológico y funcional de base microscópica de los instrumentos recuperados la cuenca superior del Arroyo Tapalqué (provincia de Buenos Aires). Los resultados obtenidos posibilitan plantear que no es posible efectuar una vinculación directa y de manera unívoca entre el diseño y la función de los instrumentos. No obstante, se subraya que la selección de algunos atributos morfológicos (forma del borde) y dimensionales (longitud del filo, largo del soporte y módulo L/A) se relacionan con el contexto de uso.
