In this article, reference is made to Kafkan characters and to a film by David Cronenberg which reinterprets the novel The Naked Lunch and the life of its author, the American writer William Burroughs. Articulated with the developments of Lacanian psychoanalysis, these works shed light on the internal mainsprings which support such phenomena and make it possible to elucidate their specificities in the present context. Distintas producciones literarias y cinematográficas pueden ayudarnos a interpretar fenómenos de la historia de la humanidad, como la segregación y la toxicomanía. En este artículo se hace referencia a personajes kafkianos y a una película de David Cronenberg que reinterpreta la novela El almuerzo desnudo y la vida de su autor, el escritor estadounidense William Burroughs. En articulación con los desarrollos del psicoanálisis lacaniano, estas obras iluminan algunos de los resortes íntimos que sustentan dichos fenómenos y permiten dilucidar sus especificidades en el contexto actual.
