The objective is to identify gender specialized libraries in Argentina, register their history and problems in order to give them visibility. It is an exploratory-descriptive study, with a non-experimental-cross-sectional design.Interviews were conducted remotely with the staff from each of the four libraries included in the research. Starting with exploratory interviews, then the research was expanded with needed questions for each case. The first part of the work contains a historical survey of gender libraries in Argentina. The second part includes the information obtained from the interviews and then the subsequent conclusions. It was possible to identify at least four specialized gender libraries in Argentina. Their problems and strengths were detected, as well as the community and cultural outreach that each institution carries out as another way of approaching the community to spread the gender perspective. Este artículo forma parte de una investigación realizada para la obtención del título de grado en Bibliotecología y Documentación. El objetivo es identificar las bibliotecas especializadas en género en Argentina, registrar su historia y problemáticas para darles visibilidad. Es un tipo de estudio exploratorio-descriptivo, con diseño no experimental-transversal. Se realizaron entrevistas de manera remota con el personal que representó a cada una de las cuatro bibliotecas con las que se trabajó. Primeramente, fueron entrevistas exploratorias y luego se profundizó la información con las preguntas que fueron necesarias en cada caso. La primera parte del trabajo contiene un relevamiento histórico sobre las bibliotecas de género en nuestro país y la segunda parte incluye la información obtenida de las entrevistas y posteriores conclusiones. Se logró identificar por lo menos cuatro bibliotecas especializadas en género en nuestro país, se detectaron sus falencias, problemáticas y fortalezas, como así también se identificó el trabajo de investigación, comunitario y de extensión cultural que realiza cada institución como otra forma de acercamiento a la comunidad y la difusión del trabajo con perspectiva de género en sus bibliotecas.
