It focuses on the provision of services by specialized librarian teams, which confirms the performance of this professional, in an autonomous and entrepreneurial way. It aims to demonstrate the activities carried out, the interaction between the team members, the contributions made by the contracting institution and the contracted participants, as well as some challenges and possible future expectations. The study is characterized as a descriptive research, of a qualitative nature, with procedures of bibliographic research and case report, from contracted services for treatment and organization of the university library collection. Through the information organization activities carried out in the bibliographic collections, it was possible to verify that it is of fundamental importance that the librarian, in carrying out the descriptions, establish a dialogical relationship with other members, in order to clarify doubts and promote more effective solutions. The present consultancy extended the knowledge of the librarians, mainly regarding the technical activities of cataloging, indexing and classification, besides strengthening actions of management and interpersonal relations, something essential for the success of the work in team, fundamental in the processes of information organization. O presente artigo corresponde a um relato de caso vivenciado no âmbito das práticas de organização e representação da informação na formação de acervos bibliográficos. Tem como foco a prestação de serviços realizada por equipes especializadas de bibliotecários, o que confirma a atuação desse profissional, de forma autônoma e empreendedora. Objetiva demonstraras atividades realizadas, a interação entre os membros da equipe, as contribuições alcançadas pela instituição contratante e pelos participantes contratados, como também alguns desafios e possíveis expectativas futuras. O estudo se caracteriza como uma pesquisa descritiva, de natureza qualitativa, com procedimentos de pesquisa bibliográfica e relato de caso, a partir de serviços contratados para tratamento e organização do acervo de biblioteca universitária. Mediante às atividades de organização da informação realizada nos acervos bibliográficos, foi possível constatar que, é de fundamental importância que o bibliotecário, ao realizar as descrições, estabeleça uma relação dialógica com demais membros, a fim de esclarecer dúvidas e promover soluções mais efetivas. A presente consultoria ampliou o conhecimento dos bibliotecários, principalmente quanto às atividades técnicas de catalogação, indexação e classificação, além de fortalecer ações de gestão e relações interpessoais, algoimprescindível para o sucesso do trabalho em equipe, fundamental nos processos de organização da informação.
