Este trabajo intenta llamar la atención sobre las explicaciones superfi ciales que se brindan en la mayoríade los libros de textos sobre la transmisión de la energía desde la fuente hasta la resistencia en un circuitosimple de corriente continua. Puede obtenerse una descripción más signifi cativa de esta transferencia si seconoce tanto la naturaleza del campo eléctrico asociado a un conductor que transporta una corriente, comola de las cargas que lo crean y que se distribuyen en la superfi cie de los mismos.
