The objective was to introduce a didactic change in the teaching of the topic Matter Transformations, taking into account The study was carried out in four annual cycles, it was framed in a research project accredited by the university. and had to be adapted due to the unforeseen events caused by the covid-19 pandemic. The proposed didactic change was based on the integration of theoretical-experimental activities and stoichiometric calculation, incorporating multimedia resources. This is why this project was framed in the Multimedia Learning Theory. The investigation adopted a mixed approach, combining quantitative and qualitative analysis methods, carrying out interviews, surveys, analysis of laboratory reports and instruments included in evaluations. Among the results, a low percentage of approval was observed since 2020, which could not be reversed despite the multiple efforts made by the teaching team. Se presenta un estudio de diseño sobre la enseñanza de las transformaciones de la materia en la asignatura Química de la Licenciatura en Física de la Facultad de Ciencias Exactas, Ingeniería y Agrimensura, de la Universidad Nacional de Rosario. El objetivo fue introducir un cambio didáctico, atendiendo a dificultades en la comprensión y modelización de las situaciones problemáticas que se evidencian en las respuestas de las evaluaciones, en la baja cantidad de estudiantes que acredita la asignatura y, finalmente, en su desempeño a lo largo de la carrera. Se realizó en cuatro ciclos anuales y debió adecuarse por la pandemia de covid-19. El cambio propuesto se basó en integrar las actividades teóricas, experimentales y de cálculo estequiométrico incorporando recursos multimedia, por lo que se enmarcó en la teoría cognitiva del aprendizaje multimedia. La investigación fue de carácter mixto, con entrevistas, encuestas, análisis de informes de laboratorio y de instrumentos incluidos en evaluaciones. Entre los resultados se observó un bajo porcentaje de aprobación de la asignatura desde el año 2020. Esta situación no ha logrado revertirse a pesar de los esfuerzos del equipo docente, por lo que se está indagando acerca de los pesares que afectan a los grupos estudiantiles que impiden recuperar el rendimiento académico de antaño.
