Tocarry it out, the design-based research methodology was used and one of the instruments to evaluate the quality of said material wasa two-level survey whose results guided us to identify the aspects of the design that led to misconceptions. En este trabajo se presentan los resultados de una investigación sobre la implementación de alternativas didácticas innovadoras para trabajar con los estudiantes de primer año de una escuela secundaria con la intención de desarrollar una visión de la estructura de la materia integrada desde el punto de vista atómico molecular con modelos semiclásicos que den cuenta de las relaciones entre la estructura de la materia y su comportamiento macroscópico. Para llevar a cabo dicha investigación se recurrió a la metodología de investigación basada en el diseño y uno de los instrumentos que se utilizó para evaluar la calidad de dicho material fue una encuestade dos niveles cuyos resultados nos guiaron a identificar los aspectos del diseño que inducían concepciones alternativas.
