Interviews were used to collect information, which were conducted with the aid of semi-structured scripts, carried out on the school premises, recorded on audio and later transcribed. To treat and analyze the information collected, we used Discourse Analysis, in the French perspective, as presented by Eni Orlandi. The results obtained in the scope of the investigation showed the need for collaborative activities that contribute to the development of professional knowledge related to educational policies that must be implemented in the school institution. In particular, the construction of subsidies for the execution of the assigned functions and for the mediations carried out by the area coordinating teacher to imply improvements in the teaching performance, especially in terms of planning and implementing practices that can produce learning development measures. Neste estudo, procuramos identificar as ações de uma professora coordenadora de área decorrentes da implementação de diretrizes estabelecidas pela Secretaria da Educação do Estado de São Paulo, no contexto de uma escola de Educação Básica pertencente ao Programa “Ensino Integral”, em especial as ações que envolvem os processos de acompanhamento, de observação e de avaliação de aulas de professores da área de Ciências Naturais e Matemática. Foram utilizadas entrevistas para a coleta de informações, as quais foram conduzidas com auxílio de roteiros semiestruturados, realizadas nas dependências da escola, gravadas em áudio e, posteriormente, transcritas. Para tratar e analisar as informações coletadas, utilizamos a Análise de Discurso, na vertente francesa, conforme apresentada por Eni Orlandi. Os resultados obtidos no âmbito da investigação evidenciaram a necessidade de atividades colaborativas que contribuam para o desenvolvimento de conhecimentos profissionais relativos às políticas educacionais que devem ser implementadas na instituição escolar. De modo particular, a construção de subsídios para a execução das funções atribuídas e para que as mediações realizadas pela professora coordenadora de área impliquem em melhorias na atuação docente, especialmente em termos de planejamento e de implementação de práticas passíveis de produzir medidas de desenvolvimento de aprendizagens.
