The PPL is a student-centered active learning model that allows teach ers to change their traditional role of transmitter of knowledge to the role of administrator of the educational process supported by information technology. Implemented in 2015 by Professor Florencio Pinela, the APP methodology has been adapted to the academic needs of higher education institutions in Ecuador, combining technological tools with the relevant characteristics of the interactive models of instruction by pairs and flipped classroom, adding a practical-experimental component to the teaching-learning process. Se presenta la estructura general de la metodología de aprendizaje por pares y proyecto (APP) con la finalidad de ofrecer un modelo educativo alternativo, apoyado en tecnología, para la educación superior en Latinoamérica. El APP es un modelo de aprendizaje activo centrado en el estudiante, que permite al docente cambiar su rol tradicional de transmisor de conocimientos al rol de administrador del proceso educativo apoyado en tecnología de la información. Implementada en 2015 por el Profesor Florencio Pinela, la metodología APP se ha adaptado a las necesidades académicas de las instituciones de educación superior en Ecuador combinando herramientas tecnológicas con las características relevantes de los modelos interactivos de instrucción por pares y aula invertida, adicionando un componente práctico–experimental al proceso de enseñanza–aprendizaje.
