As a result, it was found that students donot recognize the contents of Physics as important for the explanation of everyday facts, in addition to gender issues related to Science.It was also clear the few indicators of scientific literacy that could be found in the texts produced by the students, which suggestsserious learning gaps in science. Pesquisa realizada em uma escola rural do Vale do Paraíba, Estado de São Paulo (Brasil), avaliou como as histórias em quadrinhosproduzidas por alunos podem ser analisadas por meio da análise de discurso e indicadores de alfabetização científica. Como resultado,constatou-se que os alunos não reconhecem os conteúdos da Física como importantes para a explicação dos fatos do cotidiano, alémdas questões de gênero relacionadas às ciências. Ficaram evidentes também os poucos indicadores de letramento científico que puderamser encontrados nos textos produzidos pelos alunos, o que sugere graves lacunas de aprendizagem em ciências.
