Thus, based on the recurrent use of the problematization suggested by Silveira (2011), together with the results indicated by other authors on the difficulty of using such a proposal, we analyze and evaluate possibilities for modifications that contribute to expand the construction of knowledge in physics classes, resulting in the presentation of a new didactic proposal. The proposal presented here emerges naturally in the current context in which Traffic Departments - DETRAN, from many Brazilian states, carry out campaigns in schools to try to make students aware of the risks of speed abuse and alcohol use while driving. Investigar situações-problema e avaliar as aplicações do conhecimento científico é uma das principais competências e habilida-des a serem desenvolvidas no ensino médio nas aulas de Ciências da Natureza e suas Tecnologias. Assim, a partir do uso recor-rente da problematização sugerida por Silveira (2011), juntamente com resultados indicados por outros autores sobre dificulda-de de uso de tal proposta, analisamos e avaliamos possibilidades de modificações que contribuam para ampliar a construção de conhecimentos nas aulas de física, resultando na apresentação de uma nova proposta didática. A proposta aqui apresentada, emerge naturalmente no atual contexto em que Departamentos de Trânsito - DETRAN, de muitos Estados brasileiros, realizam campanhas nas escolas para tentar conscientizar alunos quanto aos riscos de abuso de velocidade e uso álcool ao dirigem.
