Few investigations have taken into account the social representations that prospective teachers have about certain basic concepts in the teaching of natural sciences. Our work, developed with prospective Physics and Chemistry teachers, has allowed us to find the structure of their social representations about nuclear and chemical reactions, using a technique of evocation and hierarchical organization. In this presentation, we analyze and compare these representations, which allow us to find traits of socially shared knowledge about these concepts and to identify some points of conflict that could impact the future practices of the students of the sample, relating them to learning problems identified in this area. Pocas investigaciones han tenido en cuenta las representaciones sociales que tienen los futuros docentes acerca de ciertos conceptos básicos en la enseñanza de las ciencias naturales. Nuestro trabajo, desarrollado con es-tudiantes de Profesorado en Física y en Química, ha permitido encontrar la estructura de sus representaciones sociales acerca de las reacciones nucleares y químicas, a partir una técnica de evocación y jerarquización. En esta presentación analizamos y comparamos dichas representaciones, lo que nos permite encontrar rasgos de los conocimientos socialmente compartidos acerca de estos conceptos e identificar algunos puntos de conflicto que podrían impactar en las prácticas futuras de los estudiantes de la muestra, asociándolos a problemas de aprendizaje identificados en esta área.
