The second study added the relationship between the adequate construction of analogies and success in problem solving. The following study tried to go deep in cognitive difficulties appearing in solving-by-analogy processes. Finally, we explored students’ monitoring when they try to understand solved problems provided by teachers. El presente trabajo resume y cohesiona diversas investigaciones sobre procesos de comprensión en resolución de problemas. El artículo describe cuatro estudios empíricos: El primer estudio se destinó al análisis de las primeras etapas del proceso de transferencia, codificación y establecimiento de analogías. El segundo añadió la relación entre la correcta construcción de analogías y el éxito en la resolución. El siguiente estudio buscó profundizar en las dificultades cognitivas durante el proceso de resolución por analogía. Por último, se indagó en el uso de la estrategia metacognitiva de control de la comprensión de un problema resuelto.
