The relationship of dependence that girls and boys present at this stage with respect to child-rearing and care referents leads us to analyze that care has historically been relegated to the actions undertaken by women as the only ones responsible for it. This historical and naturalized gender gap in the patriarchal scenario has been challenged by various social, cultural and political changes, making the State and, in particular, the municipality a relevant actor to reverse these inequalities. The present work arises from the intertwining of two research studies on child care in the Partido de General Pueyrredon and aims to address the complexity and importance of public policies aimed at early childhood care and the permanent social debt that is observed in this regard in the municipal public space.
