| Sumario: | This article is framed in a series of problematizations and questions about the different dimensions that coexist in the definition -and in the exercise- of the right to assistance in the Municipal Emergency Hospital of the city of Córdoba. These dimensions derive, on the one hand, from contemplating the different socio-sanitary situations that occur on a daily basis within the institution. On the other hand, these complexities refer to the juxtaposed multiplicity of ethical, political and clinical meanings and practices that became present through the application of the extended case method around the experiences of patient N.M., who is currently in the hospital for an undetermined period of time. From an ethnographic perspective, we intend to ask ourselves about the meaning and sense of the right to assistance in the hospital and about the nuances of the right to assistance in the case of patients like N.M., and at the same time to analytically and reflexively weave together different possible ways of understanding and problematizing the right to assistance in relation to the notions of equity, equality and justice, in a specific space and time. |
