These dimensions derive, on the one hand, from contemplating the different socio-sanitary situations that occur on a daily basis within the institution. On the other hand, these complexities refer to the juxtaposed multiplicity of ethical, political and clinical meanings and practices that became present through the application of the extended case method around the experiences of patient N.M., who is currently in the hospital for an undetermined period of time. From an ethnographic perspective, we intend to ask ourselves about the meaning and sense of the right to assistance in the hospital and about the nuances of the right to assistance in the case of patients like N.M., and at the same time to analytically and reflexively weave together different possible ways of understanding and problematizing the right to assistance in relation to the notions of equity, equality and justice, in a specific space and time. El presente artículo se enmarca en una serie de problematizaciones e interrogantes en torno a las distintas dimensiones que conviven en la definición –y en el ejercicio– del derecho a la asistencia en el Hospital Municipal de Urgencias de la ciudad de Córdoba Capital. Dichas dimensiones derivan, por un lado, de las diversas situaciones socio-sanitarias que se suceden de manera cotidiana al interior de la institución. Por otro lado, estas complejidades refieren a la multiplicidad yuxtapuesta de sentidos y prácticas de índole ética, política y clínicoa, que fueron haciéndose presentes mediante la aplicación del método de caso ampliado en torno a las experiencias del paciente N.M., quien se encuentra actualmente en el hospital por tiempo indeterminado. A partir de preguntarnos entonces, desde una perspectiva etnográfica, por el significado y los sentidos del derecho a la asistencia en el hospital y por los matices del derecho a la asistencia en el caso de pacientes como N.M., es que pretendemos desandar y a la vez entretejer analítica y reflexivamente, distintos modos posibles de significar y de problematizar el derecho a la asistencia en relación a las nociones de equidad, igualdad y justicia, en un espacio y tiempo determinado.
