It is indisputable that for some years now the proposal of Universal Basic Income (UBI) or Citizen's Income (CI) has been present to a large extent in different political and academic forums. From the field of Social Work we have also witnessed a remarkable growth and popularity of this proposal and it is no wonder: witnessing daily the harsh living conditions of an increasingly significant part of the population, witnessing the failure of traditional policies to eradicate poverty, along with the increase in bureaucracy and difficulties in accessing most existing subsidies, are facts that have deepened the support and defense of the RB/CI increasingly from sectors related to Social Work. En este artículo nos proponemos aportar a la reflexión y al debate sobre las vinculaciones posibles entre la Renta Básica/Ingreso Ciudadano y el Trabajo Social. Es indiscutible que desde hace unos años la propuesta de la Renta Básica Universal (RB) o Ingreso Ciudadano (IC) estuvo presente en buena medida en distintos foros políticos y académicos. Desde el ámbito del Trabajo Social también hemos asistido a un notable crecimiento y popularidad de esta propuesta y no es para menos: el estar presenciando a diario las duras condiciones de vida de una parte cada vez más significativa de la población,  asistir al fracaso de las políticas tradicionales para erradicar la pobreza, junto al aumento de la burocracia y dificultades  para acceder a la mayoría de subsidios existentes, son hechos que han profundizado  el apoyo y defensa de la RB/IC cada vez más de sectores afines al Trabajo Social.
