For this purpose, it analyzes documents prepared by both the National Interuniversity Council and the Council of Rectors of Private Universities, which are consistent with the central postulates of the Reform. From the recognition of the definitions of the century-old deed, in relation to the University-society relationship; The article warns that its philosophy, anchored to collective action, is currently threatened by the neoliberal discourse, against which it proposes a set of postulates in defense of the public, secular, free and excellent university. El artículo se propone actualizar el significado y los desafíos que la Reforma Universitaria del ’18 para la actualidad de las comunidades universitarias argentinas. Para ello, analiza documentos elaborados tanto por el Consejo Interuniversitario Nacional como del Consejo de Rectores de Universidades Privadas, los cuales son consistentes con los postulados centrales de la Reforma. A partir del reconocimiento de las definiciones de la gesta centenaria en cuanto a la relación Universidad-sociedad, advierte que su filosofía, anclada en la acción colectiva, se encuentra actualmente amenazada por el discurso neoliberal, frente al cual propone un conjunto de postulados en defensa de la universidad pública, laica, gratuita y de excelencia.
