In this work we present a recreational proposal called “Río y Juego” that seeks to democratize scientific knowledge about aquatic knowledge and associated biodiversity, in areas of formal and non-formal education. The public communication of science from national research organizations such as Centro de Investigación Esquel de Montaña y Estepa Patagónica (CIEMEP-CONICET-UNPSJB) takes on special relevance within the framework of the application in our country of the Environmental Education Law. Los ambientes acuáticos son de gran relevancia para la sociedad por los bienes comunes que nos proveen, sin embargo, las actividades humanas frecuentemente impactan negativamente en los mismos. Estos ambientes también son el hábitat de múltiples organismos que muchas veces son poco conocidos por la sociedad. En este trabajo presentamos una propuesta lúdica denominada “Río y Juego” que busca democratizar el conocimiento científico acerca de los conocimientos acuáticos y la biodiversidad asociada, en ámbitos de la educación formal y no formal. La comunicación pública de la ciencia desde los organismos nacionales de investigación como el Centro de Investigación Esquel de Montaña y Estepa Patagónica (CIEMEP-CONICET-UNPSJB) cobra especial relevancia en el marco de la aplicación en nuestro país de la Ley de Educación Ambiental Integral.
