What powers reside in the act of becoming a biologist and science and biology teacher? How to activate attention to what resonates as fertile, ethical, responsible and fruitful in the transformative movements that occur along the paths taken in a degree in Biological Sciences? From the invitation to participate in a round table at a Public University in the brazilian northeastern hinterland, in celebration of biologist’s day, the author of this text was mobilized to think about the lines and marks that cross his training and performance as a teacher and biologist. Thus, he decided to write a manifesto-letter to the graduates in Biological Sciences at that institution and presented it at this same event, in September 2023. In it, by revisiting brands and paths followed by him, notions of ethics, responsibility, challenges, struggles and love are necessary to act as biologists and science and biology teachers in the contemporary world. O que está em jogo quando pensamos na tarefa de habitar a docência e a profissão enquanto biólogo/a? Quais potências residem no ato de formar-se biólogo/a e professor/a de ciências e biologia? Como ativar a atenção ao que ressoa de fértil, de ético, de responsável e de frutífero nos movimentos transformativos que acontecem ao longo dos caminhos trilhados em uma graduação em licenciatura em Ciências Biológicas? A partir do convite para participar de uma mesa redonda em uma Universidade Pública no sertão nordestino brasileiro, em comemoração ao dia dos/as biólogos/as, o autor deste texto foi mobilizado a pensar nas linhas e marcas que atravessam a sua formação e atuação enquanto biólogo e, sobretudo, professor. Assim, decidiu escrever uma carta-manifesto aos/às licenciandos/as em Ciências Biológicas de tal instituição e a apresentou neste mesmo evento, em setembro de 2023. Nela, ao revisitar marcas e trajetos por ele trilhados, são mobilizadas noções da ética, responsabilidade, desafios, lutas e amorosidades necessárias para atuar enquanto biólogos/as e professores/as de ciências e biologia no mundo contemporâneo.
