Sumario:The History of School Subjects is an area of study that makes it possible to understand how content became school knowledge. This article aims to learn about the history of the school subject Biology in the Brazilian context. This research is a systematic review of articles and is qualitative. In this investigation, a time frame was established from 2009 to 2023, and 10 articles from the Portal of Journals of the Coordination for the Improvement of Higher Education Personnel (CAPES) were analyzed. The research results show that this subject's history encompasses changes and stable moments, from the 19th century to the beginning of the 20th century, when it consisted of some Biology content, such as Zoology and Botany, and was called Natural History.
